In the 11th century, as an order of the queen of Navarra, a bridge was built, so that it would become easier for the pilgrims to cross the river Arga. Now, almost a thousand years later, an unimaginable number of people have used this bridge to traverse this natural border.
When I am sitting next to it at sunset, a class of about 30 spanish pupils come by, they are doing part of the Camino as a class trip, their teacher asks them to think about the importance of bridges in order to overcome a distance. When has a person built a bridge for you in the past? Have you ever built one for someone else? Then, they all cross it once, to become part of this "cloud of millions of people" having done so in almost a thousand years.
