Grañón is one of these small villages with a church so big that it just does not seem to suit it. There are a lot of those on the Camino though.
Tonight, I will sleep in the choir of this church! The hostel is part of the church, you have to climb up a small staircase towards the tower. Since parts of it are under construction, there is only one room for the pilgrims to sleep in. When I get here, it is already quite full, so some of us sleep in the choir. The priest and some volunteers take care of the pilgrims, invite them for a meal at night and breakfast in the morning, very nice people, the atmosphere is very familial. A night I will not forget so quick: laying in the cold, covered by two blankets with every sound echoing in the big, dark and silent church.
